About the Item

An exquisite diamond and sapphire bracelet from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This gorgeous and unique platinum piece was once a flexible link bracelet that has since been converted to a fabulous hinged bangle. A sparkling array of old Rose Cut diamonds and calibrated sapphires adorn the front surface, surrounded by incredible filigree wirework and fine milgrain detail. The design is stunning, and includes a circular link at the center, encrusted with pave-set diamonds that encircles a larger old Rose Cut stone in the middle. Framing the round link are two matching filigree 'links' on either side, each one adorned with sparkling diamonds and various symmetrical lines of rich blue sapphires that add a fantastic pop of color to the design. The filigree wirework forms delicate cutouts throughout the centerpiece, and fine airline cutouts are visible from the sides, both providing a wonderful feminine touch. In total, all of the diamonds weigh approximately 2.00ctw and the sapphires weigh approximately 0.50ctw combined, each one catching the light brilliantly with every turn. The entire band is comprised of stacked open wirework, providing a wonderful airiness to the design, and fastening the piece together is a push clasp on the side and a safety latch for additional security. This stunning bangle would make a fabulous statement piece when worn and is perfect for special occasions! The interior of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 3/8" wide and 1 7/8" tall, and the piece would fit nicely on an average sized wrist. The design measures a little more than 3/4" wide on the front and the band measures a little more than 1/4" wide at the back.

Condition:
Wear consistent with age and use. The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting. All of the diamonds and sapphires are intact and securely set. The clasp and safety latch are in good working order.
