About the Item

The woman who taught me how to write was named Lynda. Once, when she was trying to describe a color to me she said, "There isn't a name for it because it's not a color; it's one of the colors between the colors." That phrase, "the colors between the colors" has stayed with me. And I am deploying it today to describe the color of this natural Burmese jadeite jade bracelet. The certificate from the gem laboratory states the color as "Pale Green." But how do we define "pale"? This is a bangle of ghostly beauty. Almost white until you turn the page of your book or wave at a neighbor across the way and you suddenly glimpse the faintest green; so light you could think your mind was playing tricks on you. Those unfamiliar with the borderline mystical properties of this stone may be inclined to call this a weak green. But it is the exact opposite. For its extraordinarily subtle huge captures the eye in order to endlessly reevaluate the tone. Light, light green: yes; but impossible to look away from: absolutely. The bangle measures 74.6mm x 9.3mm and has an inner diameter of 56mm. Please see the last image for help determining your bangle size. Often, a slightly too small bangle can be coaxed onto the hand with Windex. This gorgeous bangle ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the jade is untreated jadeite from Burna (Myanmar). Near-colorless jade bangles are not rare. But what is, indeed quite rare, is a near-colorless jade bangle with extraordinary translucency, as we have hewr. Many white jade bangles appear to be stuffed with steamed rice. "Rice texture" is a phrase used in China to describe this impenetrable white. This bangle has levity because it is so very "pale" yet so translucent.
