About the Item
This exceptional pair of 14k gold Victorian wedding bangles date to 1891, late nineteenth century and are a superbly-matched set. Each one has a center design with a sparkling old european cut diamond flanked by two sapphires in fine buttercup settings.
On either side sits a row of white split pearls, tiny rose cut diamonds and engraved embellishments.
They have a pinch clasp closure on the side with safety chains.
Engraved near interior hinge '91 and the initails E.a.d.l. Eltern ..see photos
This duo represent a rare find; possessing an exquisite, feminine aesthetic that has endured through the years.
During Victorian times, a bracelet was given and worn when betrothed and the matching bangle worn after marriage. A sentimental and endearing tradition of love!
