Circa 1880s, 14k, American. This wearable bangle, borrowed from the Victorians, celebrates America's love affair with revival aesthetics. The look is wonderfully interpretive with a style centered on the Etruscan taste. Perfect for any moment of fashion, its visual narrative breezily takes you from the sidewalk to the catwalk. Finely fashioned and wonderfully heavy, it is in excellent condition.
Remark: "So let me get this straight -- 2500 years ago, the Etruscans liked this style, and 2000 years ago the Romans were into it. Then 150 years ago, the Victorians brought it back, and now we're still wearing Etruscanate fashions … Must be some kind of chic thing going on!"
