About the Item
This is a spectacular antique Gold Filled Victorian - Art Nouveau lion, panther, leopard or tiger Bangle Bracelet. The bracelet has extraordinary three-dimensional design with its fantastic lion head and beautiful applied scroll work. The bracelet is one of the most spectacular antique animal motif bracelets we have every seen. The lion is dramatic and wonderful. It is antique and has an inscription on the inside with inscribed initials and Noel 1910. We love our panther, lion, cat jewelry and this one is the finest we have seen. The repousse raised and engraved work creates a magnificent image of the big cat with gorgeous details. The long teeth that clasp the sparkling paste gem and the open mouth behind the teeth are something I have never seen before. The eyes are round red glass cabochons. The reverse has a beautifully done Victorian engraved monogram. The dramatic lion, tiger, panther performs dramatically around the wrist and creates a conversation piece to be passed on for generations. Animal inspired jewels are all the rage today and finding one of this quality is just a dream.
The bracelet is signed PR ST Co for Providence Stock Company of Providence Rhode Island.
The interior of the bracelet is 7 inches around.
The bracelet opens to fit over the wrist.
The bracelet is 15mm wide and the lion head is 22 mm tall.
There are one or two tiny dings on the back side of the bangle.
The bracelet weighs 41.5 grams.
