Vintage 9K Gold Ornate Carnelian Fob Charm Pendant
About the Item
This lovely fob charm pendant is made of 9 karat gold and it carries a plate of dark red carnelian at the bottom. The charm is nicely detailed with scrolling gold and engraved details. This pendant is a miniature fob as they were made in Georgian and Victorian times and carried on a watch chain or chatelaine.
Fob pendants are precious objects or ornaments made of metal, precious stones or other materials that existed in ancient times. In the second half of the 18th century, a new generation of amulets came into fashion, worn as a pendant and ornamental pendant on the watch strap or watch chain.
Ornaments of classical art, leaves, volutes and grooves form the next body of the pendant and lead to the eyelet attached at the top. The elegant pendant can be worn on a charms bracelet or layered with your other favorite beauties.
The fob is in very good condition and of high quality. Hallmarks 9.375 for 9k gold visible and present. The charm comes without the chain.
