Ed Wiener Hinged Bangle Bracelet with Gemstones
About the Item
This multigem hinged bangle bracelet was made by Ed Wiener, one of the leaders of the mid-20th century Modernist jewelry movement. Wiener most often worked in silver. This heavy 18 karat gold piece was probably a custom made piece.
The front is 15/16" tall, tapering to a height of 9/16" in the back. The front is set with a variety of stones that include amethyst; tourmaline and a dark topaz. They are a variety of shapes and sizes with no two repeated. The gold has the textured effect that Wiener often favored. The bracelet has a hinged clasp. The interior is 2 1/4" in diameter. It fits a small/ medium wrist. Condition is like new.
