About the Item

This beautifully made, 18 karat yellow gold cuff came to us with a dreary smoky quartz set in the center. Eytan Brandes jettisoned the questionable quartz then fashioned a 14 karat white gold plate to fit the center, then set it with a beautiful mess of multi-shaped, multi-sized, multi-colored diamonds. The result is a completely unique, eye-catching bracelet that manages to combine the traditional with the modern to stunning effect. The front of the bracelet is a forest of frosty, carefully cut leaves. Originally, there were ten white gold, diamond cut dots on either side of the center stone, giving the bracelet a little extra sparkle. Eytan didn't settle for white gold cut to look like diamonds -- he just replaced the dots with actual diamonds -- ten bright white full cuts -- a total of 0.10 carats. The center panel has a matte finish and is set with: 12 white full-cut diamonds in seven different sizes, totaling 0.24 carats. All white diamonds are rated by our supplier as GH color and VS1-2 clarity. 4 yellow full-cut diamonds ranging in size from 0.08 to 0.13 carat for a total of 0.43 carats. These yellows range from fancy-light to fancy-intense. Clarity ranges from VS2 to I2. 2 ovals, 0.20 carats and 0.12 carats, in dark yellow (fancy-deep) and orange-brown (cognac). Both diamonds are low VS clarity. 3 squares with radiant or modified radiant cuts, 0.10 carats each in dark yellow, cognac and dark orange-brown (fancy-deep). These stones are at least medium SI clarity. 1 rectangle with modified radiant cut, 0.11 carats, in light yellow orange, VS2-SI1 clarity. The total stone weight for the white gold centerpiece is 1.40 carats. The back of the bracelet is solid, with a Florentine finish set off with hand-engraved starbursts. Closure: Box tab with figure 8 safety catch Marks: "750," for 18K gold, is stamped on the box tab. There's a mark next to the purity stamp that could be a maker's mark, but we haven't been able to identify it. The white gold center panel is 14K, but is not marked. We guarantee it to be 14 karat gold. Size: This bracelet is oval-shaped and has an inside circumference of 6.5"; it will not fit wrists larger than 6.5". Measurements: The front of the bracelet is just over 1" in height, tapering gracefully to 3/8" in the back. Weight: 38.5 grams. The 18 karat weight is 33.9 grams and the 14 karat weight is 4.3 grams.

Additions or alterations made to the original: We added ten diamonds in tiny bezels to the front of the bracelet. Polished. Replacements made: We replaced the gacky center stone (a smoky quartz) with a plate of white gold, set with diamonds. This bracelet was probably made in the 1980's or 1990's. It does not appear to have experienced much wear and in the process of resetting the center and adding diamond accents, it's been cleaned and polished within an inch of its leafy life.
