About the Item

The appreciation of coloured diamonds is not a recent phenomenon – they have been coveted for centuries, been part of princely collections and set in crown jewels. The so-called "Blue Wittelsbacher", for instance, a natural blue diamond, was one of the greatest treasures of the Bavarian kings. Augustus III of Poland, Elector of Saxony, paid more for the Green Dresden Diamond than for the construction of Moritzburg Castle. And in more recent times, the yellow Tiffany diamond has risen to fame: the stone weighs 287.42 ct and presents a delightful canary yellow colour. In the world of diamonds, the coloured ones are even more precious and sought-after than their colourless siblings, precisely because of their beauty and rarity. The bracelet at hand presents seven of these special diamonds within an elegant design. The central stone weighs in at 2.60 ct, while each of the other six coloured diamonds weighs at least 1.00 ct. All of these seven coloured diamonds, cut in the old European cut, present us natural colours in a range from delicate green to intense, reddish brown: yellow-green, light yellow, fancy intense orange-brown, yellow-brown as well as fancy deep brown. The diamonds are presented within round frames at regular intervals, accompanied by laurel ornaments and simple, graphic bars, all set with white diamonds for contrast. 185 diamonds overall make up the bracelet, amounting to a lavish 15.90 ct. The cuts of the smaller stones as well as the use of white gold suggest that the bracelet was created in the 1930s. The bracelet will be accompanied by an independent gemological certificate as well as our own house certificate, issued by an art historian.
