The craftmanship and the assembling are exceptional, realized by multiples links attached together by invisible pins. Embellished with very fine natural gemstones. all of them are carefully calibrated and are described as follow; prong set with 29 round brilliants cuts of natural Colombian green emeralds with a combined weight of 2.90 carats. They are completely transparent, with great vivid color saturation and not treated with oil. Burnish set, with 87 round brilliants cut diamonds, 1.74 carats, E/F color, VS-1 clarity. The year 1886 marked a special occasion in the young watchmaker's life as Eduard Jakob Gübelin married bertha Sophia Breitschmid, the daughter of his old master. In the 1920s Gübelin opened its own jewelry atelier and at the same time set up a small gemological laboratory so that it could test – and be sure of the authenticity – of the stones its jewelers used.
