Italian Plique a Jour Brutalist Bracelet in 18kt Gold Diamonds and Blue Enamel

About the Item

Fantastic brutalist plique a jour Italian bracelet. A great Italian artistic piece, made at the beginning of the the 1970's and designed with brutalist patterns. It was crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 carats with textures and embellished, with magnificent applications of royal blue enamel with the transparent technique, called plique a jour. The plique a jour is an extremely difficult French enameling technique, used in very special pieces. This technique was developed in Asia and Europe, during the 18th and the 19th century and was exploded during the art-nouveau period. The glass application need to be precise and impeccable, later is heated with specific temperature, to create the effect of transparency like a stained glass window. This bracelet is composed by 13 different elements, attached all together with invisible hinged links. Is suited with a push lock and a hinged figure 8 for extra security. Prong set with 16 European round brilliant cut diamonds, gradated from 3 to 8 points, with a total weight of 0.88 cts, G/H color, VS-2 clarity. The gross weight of this bracelet is 79.8 grams and have a length of 7.6 inches and a width of almost 1 inch (24 mm). Is stamped with Italian assay control hallmarks, "18 KT BREV ITALY CENTURI". Note: The term Brev, is usually stamped on gold jewelry and other gold pieces made in Italy. It is an abbreviation for "brevetto", which in Italy means that the jewelry piece, the specific technique and design is licensed or patented. Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of this bracelet is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold.
