This rare agate bracelet, sets in gold. one of the best examples of stone sculpting I have found in Scottish jewelry. The stones as elongated pyramids or abstract bows. Image 6 shows the agate shapes perfectly. Click, if you will, on a close up of the bracelet to clearly see the rich colors of the agates. Terra Cotta stippled with greenish black, mossy agate with peach, olive with charcoal ripples, peach with bisque, and a crest shaped padlock of orange, green, tan and white are the natural shades of the stones. The central stripe of tan on the padlock is lighter in person than is represented on my computer screen. Scottish jewelry played a large role during the reign of Queen Victorian and Prince Albert. This beautifully executed jewel was made with double sided gold links. On the top of the bracelet are seventeen flowers with a natural turquoise in each. The bracelet appears to be hand made. Some of the flowers are larger than others and hold a turquoise that is in proportion to the flower size. Repousse engraved petals are indented and curved to resemble an actual flower. The surprise comes when you turn the bracelet over. The front flower is backed by another of the same size, the difference being that each link has a small raised flower at center rather than another turquoise.
