Blue Green Tourmaline Yellow Gold One of a Kind Ladder Bracelet, Petra Class
About the Item
One of a kind masterpiece for the wrist by acclaimed jewelry maker Petra Class, completely handmade in signature-finished 22k yellow gold and featuring 54.0 total carats of tourmaline ranging from deep greens to soft blues in assorted faceted and rough cuts. Each shimmering gem is individually bezel-set in high-karat gold, interconnecting around the wrist through a network of intricate cylindrical rods and jump rings. The bracelet is finished with a handmade, double hook and eye clasp with a hinged safety lock. Signed PC - 54cts - 22k - 18k on the underside of the piece.
About the Artist - Petra Class acquired her jewelry training in Germany. She spent several years creating tableware, and her approach to her craft is strongly influenced by the European tradition of applied art. Petra’s jewelry is infinitely wearable, communicating her own sensibilities and a contemporary aesthetic. Petra's work reflects definite themes: the rhythmical arrangements of multiple elements; repetition of similar forms or colors; the unexpected contrasts of differently textured materials. She is endlessly fascinated with all types of gemstones and the variety of colors that they produce, and the use of these stones in her pieces evokes thoughts of paintings. Through her choice of colors and textures, Petra's jewelry communicates a variety of moods - an improvisational jazz melody, an abstract landscape, an attitude towards life - that is sensed by whoever is lucky enough to be wearing one of her pieces.
