This Contemporary Sapphire Diamond Riviere Bracelet, made by Spectra Fine Jewelry in the 21st century, circa 2018, is crafted in platinum and features 7 cushion-cut Ceylon sapphires, weighing approximately 54.36 carats total. Five of the seven gemstones are accompanied by four reports from C. Dunaigre stating that they are natural corundum sapphires of vivid blue (Royal blue) color and of Sri Lanka (Ceylon) origin with indications of heating. There could be no better description for this bracelet than “a river of jewels.” The 7.5-inch (19.05 cm) Riviere bracelet presents the Royal blue gemstones with a skillful progression or gradation in size, as is typical of the form, ranging from approximately 5.12 carats to 10.68 carats at the bracelet’s apex. The sapphires are set with a staggering array of diamonds with an estimated total weight of 24.70 carats of F-G-H colors and VS clarity that not only make the vivid blue even more lively but also create a compelling mix of geometric shapes around and between the stones. Each cushion-cut sapphire is surrounded by cushion-shaped diamond halos comprised of brilliant-cut rounds and accented top and bottom with two pears, oriented point side out. The shape of each wreath-like halo is positively regal, rivaling some of the private jewelry collections in the House of Windsor. There are 98 round diamonds with an estimated weight of 16.56 carats total, and 28 pear-shaped diamonds with an estimated weight of 8.14 carats total.
