About the Item

An exceptional 2.88 carat tourmaline and 0.86 carat diamond, 18 karat yellow gold and silver set boxed bar brooch; part of our diverse antique jewellery and estate jewelry collections. This exceptional, fine and impressive Victorian brooch has been crafted in 18k yellow gold with silver settings. The bar is ornamented to the centre with a flower design, scalloped edged cluster. A single collet set Old European round cut diamond is surrounded by six collet set fancy cut green tourmalines. The tourmalines are then bordered by thirty six collet set Dutch cut diamonds. The 18k yellow gold bar is ornamented with a further two collet set Dutch cut diamonds, and two collet set Old European round cut diamond terminals. The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp fastening, and the setting is struck with the hallmarks for 18k gold and silver (18CT&SILVER). The brooch is fitted to a leatherette, satin and velvet lined presentation case of the period, bearing the retailer's name in the lid 'Watchmaker & Jeweller, F.C. Eldridge, bridge street, leatherhead'. This antique Victorian tourmaline brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. Images do not always reflect the true color and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual color and showcases each stone. Condition This boxed Victorian bar brooch is exceptional quality set with exceptional tourmalines, displaying fine color, brilliance and presence, and very high color graded old cut diamonds, displaying a fine white color and brilliance. The brooch is an exceptional gauge of gold and is in excellent condition, fitted to a push fit presentation case and bearing clear hallmarks to the reverse of the setting.
