On offer is this gorgeous 9CT SOLID GOLD THICK CHAIN LINK CUFFLINKS DETAILS Material: 9ct (375/000) Solid Yellow Gold Style: Classic Victorian chain linked, double panelled cuff links. Age: Antique Late Victorian c1890s Condition: Very Good for age Fastening: Chain linked, push through, double panels. The chains were originally platinum but have been changed for gold ones (don't ask me why) Hallmark: UK Old 375 Plat assayed, fully tested and guaranteed Origin: UK DIMENSIONS Length (panel): 15.5mm Width (panel): 9.7 mm Length of chain: 20 mm approx Weight: 7.2 grams total Other Info: Very striking, exceptionally well made. Originates from the UK. Important info about Victorian jewellery: Many pieces such as this were made long before the Hallmarking Act came into force and though we have been hallmarking items in the UK since the 1300s this was not the norm until recently. Many items were handmade by the "family jeweler" and never went off to be assayed. Anything made pre 1920 does not need to be hallmarked by law.
