About the Item

Here we have an absolutely magnificent antique brooch which was hand-crafted from solid 14k rose gold as part of the arts & crafts movement. This long brooch features a swirling design with small leaf accents at the top and bottom. Each section of the swirling design is prong set with a trio of natural stones. At the top and bottom there are sets of old mine cut natural diamonds, in the middle there is a set of natural sapphires, and the remaining two sections display sets of natural rubies and natural emeralds. One each of the sapphires and rubies have been certified by GIA and are guaranteed to be 100% natural with no indications of heat treatment. The 6 diamonds total approximately 0.85 carats in weight and are fine quality with near-colorless G to I color and solidly eye-clean VS2 to SI2 clarity. The sapphires total approximately 1.20 carats in weight and display a rich and deep royal blue color. The rubies total approximately 1.05 carats in weight and exhibit a well-matched pinkish red color. Finally, the emeralds total approximately 1/2 carat in weight and show and outstandingly rich and vivid green color. This is a wonderful example of arts & crafts movement hand craftsmanship coupled with the natural themes expressed throughout the art nouveau period.
