This diamond brooch is such a charming piece. It's not just because it is in the shape of a chicken but the way the chicken is crafted shows such skill. The body is a substantial round old European cut diamond while the tail and the head are both made up of pear-shaped diamonds. Despite the majority of the chicken consisting of those three diamonds, there is such a huge amount of character transmitted by the details of the design and the metal work. The way one foot is lifted in the middle of strutting as chickens do, and the details of the comb and the wattles means you can imagine it pecking at the ground any moment.
It is set on a bar brooch which will keep the chicken stable on your lapel. This is a special brooch because it is a serious piece of jewellery with three substantial diamonds but it will bring a smile to all but the stoniest of faces.
