An antique enamel and diamond pansy brooch, the old-cut diamond estimated to weigh 0.25 carats claw-set to the centre of five realistically carved and enamelled petals with a14ct yellow gold back with brooch and foldable pendant fittings, made in the USA circa 1900, measuring approximately 3.2x3.4 cm, gross weight 10.4 grams.
This antique brooch is in very good condition for its age, with few indication of enamel restoration. Marked 14K , tested as 14ct Gold.
A delightful antique enamel and diamond brooch in the form of a pansy, a popular subject in American jewellery at the turn of the century, from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. A single, sparkling diamond shines from the centre of the flower, surrounded by delicately coloured enamel petals.
