Antique Scottish pebble agate brooch, 9k gold, Victorian
About the Item
We love this unusual antique, early Victorian era Scottish pebble agate brooch.
It has a unique shape and design made up of smooth polished sections of various different agates, in a cross cross or diamond shaped design.
The warm gold bezel frame encasing the agates perfectly, it has a barrette shape and fastens with a gold pin, it has varying agates from red jasper to Montrose with lovely rich tones.
A particularly beautiful example, very versatile and can be worn in many ways.
It is engraved on the reverse Mrs R S Michie 1846

Unmarked, tests as 9ct gold, early Victorian era, c1840s
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, some tiny nibbles to some edges of the agates.
