Art Deco Platinum plaque Brooch with old-cut and huit-huit cut diamonds
About the Item
The platinum structure of this original Art Deco plaque brooch exhibits refined and meticulous craftsmanship typical of this period. Soft lines alternate with geometric ones, marking the transition from the Art Nouveau era to the early Art Deco era.
The diamonds are mounted in milligranate settings. The central round old-cut diamond is approximately 0.95 ct. Each of the round lateral old-cut diamonds is about 0.50 ct. The remaining set of huit-huit-cut diamonds is approximately 1.90 ct. The cumulative diamond weight of this Art Deco brooch amounts to 3.75 ct.
During the initial period of Art Deco (1920-1930), jewelry was highly sophisticated, and brooches became symbols of elegance for women and particularly refined men.
