Art Deco sapphire and diamond double clip brooch, circa 1925.
About the Item
Art Deco sapphire and diamond double clip brooch. Each set with one drop shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting, two in total with a combined approximate weight of 5.30 carats, additionally set with three rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back part rubover settings, six in total with a combined approximate weight of 1.80 carats adorned by five round old cut diamonds in open back claw settings, ten in total with a combined weight of 0.95 carats and further decorated by eighty seven round mixed old cut diamonds in open back grain settings, forty-four in one, forty-three in the other, with a combined weight of 1.60 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 4.35 carats to two clip brooches with an impressive asymmetric design featuring polished borders, linear open galleries and intricate open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure hinged double pin, each brooch approximately 4cm wide. Settings tested platinum and fittings tested white gold, circa 1925.
