Andrea Macinai design a dedicated collection for Florentine Style. The Florentine goldsmith's art has very ancient origins. It starts with the jewellery-making of the ancient Etruscans, passes through the famous goldsmith workshops of the Renaissance and - handed down from generation to generation - reaches the goldsmith masters of today. The Florentine style, handmade by fretwork and engraving, is characterised by elaborate decorations that highlight the goldsmith's skill and make each piece of jewellery truly unique. The most typical Florentine style involved silver and yellow gold. It originated in an indefinite period when the white gold alloy did not yet exist. All great jewellery until the early 20th century foresaw either platinum or silver as the white metal. It became widespread in Florence at the end of the 19th century thanks to the revival of the neo-Renaissance style that included stylistic features typical of Greek classicism (acanthus leaves, palms, spirals).
