This is a lovely Edwardian bar brooch depicting a dog head and a riding whip. It is crafted in 18K gold and features a red paste.
Circa 1910.
Has a C clasp.
In the times of Queen Victoria, jewelry with various themes was created. One of them is hunting. A common motif of such jewelry was a fox, hound, horseshoe, horse, hunting horn. These pieces were worn by people who wanted to demonstrate their social status and hobby.
