An Edwardian ruby and diamond brooch pendant, of diamond bow and ribbon design with calibre-cut rubies and heart shaped diamond drop, circa 1910, gross weight 12.6 grams.
This antique brooch is in excellent condition for its age. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold and platinum.
This romantic Edwardian brooch comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This piece features a classically Edwardian design of foliate motifs, bows, and a heart, set throughout with glittering diamonds and bright rubies. The brooch has the appearance of three vines intertwined, the central vine shape set with calibre-cut rubies. Suspended from the central ruby detail is a glittering heart-shaped diamond, bordered by further rubies. This piece was made in around 1910 and perfectly exemplifies the jewellery styles of the time.
