Extraordinary 19th Century Paste Spray in the Naturalist Style
About the Item
Massive paste set spray of a life like orchid spray from the mid 19th Century. Set in sterling with hand set and hand cut pastes, period jewels of this size are rare and extraordinary. Designed in the naturalist style prevalent in the period with definitive Boucheron overtones.
The brooch can be worn in many directions but works best North-South. One can see how JAR, Paris has been influenced by the work of famous 19th Century jewelers. He has reinvented and recolored naturalist themes in his own modern masterworks. France 19th Century.
