French Art Deco Parrot Bird Brooch Pin Rock Crystal Sterling Silver Black Onyx
About the Item
This is a stunning antique Art Deco French Parrot Bird Brooch with a Rock Crystal square frame perch, two parrots in Sterling Silver with paste and Black Onyx adornment. The brooch is signed with the French Eagle's head for Sterling Silver as well as a maker's mark. The brooch is a superb example of French art deco artistry. The rock crystal frame is classic French design and is a stunning perch for the parrots. The two birds are elegant with both green and white paste adornment. The beaks and feet of the parrots are set with Black Onyx. The wonderful birds sitting on the rock crystal perch create a fabulous French mystique. The brooch dates to the early 20th century, circa 1920. When worn the brooch is just a magical jewel.
The brooch is 1 3/8 inches (35mm) tall and is 1 7/8 inches (47mm) wide.
The brooch is hallmarked with the French eagle head for sterling silver and a maker's mark.
There is one green paste stone missing that is closest to the head of the parrot on the left. This is very difficult to notice but I wanted to mention this. It can be replaced if desired but we have left the brooch in its original condition.
