This truly unique large brooch is Victorian period, France 1890 ca – bearing French hallmarks from the period
Impressive 39.00 Ct Natural Australian Opal, rare size to come across set in this stunning period brooch in a simple yet effective design taken by the Opal and further enhanced by natural unheated Rubies most probably Burma origin
The Opal is (44.0 x 24.4 mm.) 39.00 Ct – total carat weight, with gorgeous glowing palette of colour play changing as hitting the light, casts an enchanting multi-chromatic pastel-colored glow with lots of fire
The precious frame of the Opal is made by a consistent set of natural untreated /unheated Rubies of alluring Red, old faceted cut for 6.00 Ct. TCW – guaranteed Burma origin- adding more remark and precious accent to the Grand Opal
The brooch is made of solid 18 KT gold, back pin has original cap safer in addition
Brooch is 33 x 53 mm. (h. x w.) with 19.7 grams gross weight
Very good condition keeping with age
