A Regency cannetille gem-set cross brooch, to the centre a rectangular-cut emerald estimated to weigh 0.9 carats, surrounded by eight rectangular-cut rubies and eight old mine-cut diamonds, the rubies estimated to weigh 0.6 carats in total and the diamonds estimated to weigh 0.4 carats, all surrounded by scroll wire and beaded decorations, circa 1815, unmarked, tested as 18ct gold with 9ct gold pin, measuring 4.1 x 3.7cm, gross weight 7.7 grams. This antique brooch is in very good condition for its age. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold, with 9ct gold pin. This detailed Regency cannetille gem-set cross brooch comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and would make a wonderful antique engagement ring. The crimson rubies and vivid emeralds which are perfectly contrasted with yellow gold forming an intricate cross design. This brooch would add an elegant detail to any evening gown.
