Russian no-heat ruby natural pearls and diamond Brooch by Friedrich Koechli, Court Jeweler St. Petersburg , circa 1870
Very rare, decorative brooch from the hands of the St. Petersburg court jeweler Friedrich Koechli, designed in the graphic style of realism, set with two natural pearls and three purple-red no-heat natural Burma rubies, accentuated by sparkling diamonds.
Friedrich KOECHLI founded his company in St. Petersburg. He became court jeweler of the Tsars, was one of Farbergé's competitors and worked for Tsar Alexander III and Tsar Nicholas II. His pieces are now represented in the most important collections.
