Saturdays Child Gold Brooch by William Ruser
About the Item
This brooch is a great example of Ruser's children of the week line. This brooch features a child kneeling on a freshwater pearl next to a pail with a towel in its hands. This is a smaller (1.65" tall) version of the "Saturdays child works hard for his living". The child has blue sapphire eyes. It is stamped on the back with the signature of renowned American pin designer Ruser, and 14k.
RUSER was best known for his figural jewelry with freshwater pearls. William Ruser's shop was located on Rodeo Drive. Hollywood starlets loved to wear his pieces on and off screen.
Mondays child poem
Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.
