Sophisticated Mid-Century Modernist Serpentine Jade Gold Brooch

About the Item

This dynamic geometric brooch features vertical stokes in 18 karat yellow gold emanating from a central circular form. A serpentine jade wheel on a horizontal axis hangs from one of these stokes, encompassed by a circle that echoes the central form. This piece recalls an abstracted modernist interpretation of Aztec jewelry, which reads as equally Mid-Century Modernist and contemporary. The gold boasts a particularly warm hue, which contrasts stunningly with the cool pine green of the jade. 24 grams. Excellent condition. American, Circa 1960 Dimensions: .25"D X 2.25"L X 2"W
