Unusual 18 Karat Gold Diamond Stegosaurus Dinosaur Pin
About the Item
Just when you think you've seen it all, you cross paths with an armored dinosaur from the Mesozoic Period, which was over 150 million years ago. This extraordinary little jeweled creature was probably crafted for some treasured and special individual; we've never seen anything like it before. Who owned this great little piece, and who gifted it? We cannot know for sure, but one thing we are sure of, it was probably an epic story. The jewel tests 18 karat yellow gold, and his spiky backplates are set with modern brilliant cut diamonds. Note the wonderful attention to detail; the beautifully articulated feet, the quadruple spiked tail, the twinkly diamond in his eye. We particularly love how ripply his hide is, and how it elegantly reflects the light. Measures 2 inches by 1 inch ( a far cry from its predecessors, who spanned as much as 30 feet in length), contains 34 diamonds totaling about 1 carat, weighs 20.6 grams. Politically correct, as these dinosaurs were vegetarian; and of course so much more economical and portable than a true dinosaur fossil. Perfect for only the most unique and unusual of jewelry collectors.
