Victorian Diamond Ruby Emerald Pearl Silver 18 Karat Giardinetti Pendant Brooch
About the Item
Designed as an overflowing vase of flowers and furling foliate with rubies, diamonds, and emeralds throughout. Diamonds are rose cut and weigh approximately 0.58 carat total - quality consistent with cut and age. Round cut emeralds weigh approximately 0.77 carat total - transparent blue-green to green in color. Round cut rubies weigh approximately 0.30 carat total - transparent purplish red in color. With an articulating baroque pearl drop measuring 5.5 x 6.0 mm - white in body color with moderate iridescence. Accented by additional round pearls throughout vase and florals. Cream to reddish-orange in body color with iridescence - ranging in size and shape. Silver-topped with engraved gold reverse depicting floral and foliate details. Completed by hinged pinstem with looped closure. With fixed and hinged bales. Stamped with French hallmarks for 18 karat gold. Tested as silver. Circa: 1860's. Measures: 1 5/8 x 2 1/4 inches. Total weight: 13.7 grams.
