Victorian Double Stork Ruby Pearl and Diamond Brooch
About the Item
Here we have a wonderfully detailed brooch dating back to the Victorian era. This antique piece has been crafted from a rich 18ct yellow gold into the shape of two crossover stork birds. The features of these famous folklore birds have been wonderfully portrayed here from the layered feathers, to the long necks, legs and bills. Tiny pink Burmese rubies act as the eyes of the birds with matching square calibrated rubies providing decoration at the wings alongside clusters of rose cut diamonds. A slim cable chain is suspended from either mouth and plays host to a trio of baroque pearls surmounted with a rose cut diamond. Completing the piece is a single round faceted old cut diamond at the centre.
