Extraordinary antique enamel and 18K / 750 yellow gold collar studs or buttons - hand painted floral enamels - solid gold frames with leafy scrolls and ball details - finest quality workmanship and detail - completely hand made - French ram's head (left facing) gold hallmarks to the back of each - unsigned - France (Paris) - circa 1819-38. Excellent / mint antique condition - all original - no loss - no damage - no restoration - fine surface scratches with signs of age and use - ready to wear. Size/Dimensions - Small - 11/16" (1.8 cm.) x 7/16" (1.1 cm.) x 3/16" (.5 cm.) Deep. Weight - 3.89 Grams (Total). Special Note - These antique ' collar studs or buttons ' are shallow in depth and were intended for early to late 19th century starched shirt collars that were attached to the body of the shirt with custom buttons near the neck opening. These detachable collar types and buttons are again popular with men's formal attire in the 21st century! They may not be suitable for modern day French cuffs but may replace regular shirt cuff buttons as well!
