Pair of Sterling Silver 'OTC' Cufflinks W/ Pointing Sailor by H.C. Ostrem

About the Item

This beautiful pair of Silver Cufflinks with a scene depicting a Pointing Sailor on the deck of ship were created by the company H.C. Ostrem and originate from Norway, Circa 1930. Intended for the Officer's Training Corps (OTC), this lovely pair has fastidious attention to detail and vivid imagery, a barrel chested sailor stands confidently on deck, his right hand gesturing powerfully to call the attention of his ship mates, the other arm grips what appears to be a hooked tool pulling a dolly up from over the edge of the ship's railing. The ocean is tumultous and one can sea the beginnings of a large wave forming in the background, with precise lines depicting the railing of the ship, surrounded by a maritime scalloped edge framework that loops and overlaps into itself with gorgeous ribbon form curves. Stamped with the Maker's Mark "OXO" indicating H.C. Ostrem as the maker, these cufflinks will style beautifully with a wide array of styles and dress, sure to capture the eye of those who appreciate fine 20th Century Silverwork and Historical Pieces. Weighing 4 Grams each for a total of 8 grams of silver. In Excellent Vintage Condition. Norway, Circa 1930 Dimensions: Width: 23mm Length: 15mm Depth: 15mm Height: 15mm Diameter: 30mm
