Alice Cicolini's Jaipur Muzo Colombian Emerald Wisteria Earrings feature three beautiful cabochon-cut Colombian Muzo emerald marquises, set in 14k yellow gold and white diamonds, graduating in size to form these drop earrings. The reverse features a soft Wisteria flower contrasting against a graphic monochromatic zigzag executed in lacquer enamel. The descending emerald drops can be removed and reattached, giving the option to wear as a pair of emerald studs or as emerald drop earrings. Full length: 75mm Narrowest point: 14mm Widest point: 29mm In 2018, Alice collaborated with the famous Colombian Muzo emerald mine to create spectacular pieces, featuring their rare hexagonal stones, and celebrating the launch of a new collection of gems from the mine that focus on the natural beauty of this most imperial of jewels. The piece is handmade by Alan O’Grady, Stanislav Reymer in London. Both craftsmen use lacquer instead of glass which bring a greater durability to a technique made famous by Rene Lalique. Cicolini’s work aims to go some way towards providing a platform of expression for this extraordinary tradition – a magical combination of artistry and craftsmanship at the highest level. Alice Cicolini creates playful jewels, often working in enamel and with a rainbow of coloured stones. Her pieces present exquisite Indian craftsmanship, respectful of tradition whilst ensuring these skills survive through contemporary design. Working in cold lacquer enamel lends a strength to the shades she employs in her designs, as well as offering an unlimited palette. Cicolini's pieces are like exquisite candies that you just can’t resist coming back to time and again.
