Late Georgian Gold Aquamarine, Topaz and Turquoise Suite
About the Item
A late Georgian gold aquamarine, pink topaz and turquoise suite, consisting of a necklace, a pair of drop earrings and a bodice brooch, the necklace with ten lozenge shaped links each centrally set with a pink topaz surrounded by four oval aquamarines, connected with ten navette-shaped links each set with an oval pink topaz and four cabochon-cut turquoises, with matching pair of drop earrings and brooch/pendant, the stones are all set in gold ornate mounts of foliate design, circa 1820, the necklace measuring approximately 44.5 x 2.8cm, the earrings measuring approximately 8 x 3.1cm, and the brooch/pendant measuring approximately 8.8 x 5.7cm, gross weight 62.93 grams, in a fitted box.
This stunning Georgian demi parure comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This suite features a matching brooch, necklace, and pair of earrings, each featuring ornate scrolled yellow gold set with pink topaz, pastel-hued aquamarine and cabochon-cut turquoise. Colourful and exuberant, this exceptional suite captures the elegance and ornate, Romantic styles of the 1820s. This set would look stunning paired with an evening gown, with the brooch pinned to the centre of the bodice as it would have been worn in the nineteenth century.
