Philippe Lauras, France : Having grown up in an artistic environment, I knew I was destined to follow a creative path. He enrolled at the Paris Jewelry School (BJOP), and studied gemology, drawing and sculptural modeling in parallel. I started working in 1982 and continued my training in two of the most renowned Parisian high jewelry workshops, where I learned the traditional techniques of jewelry making, which require patience, rigor and precision. Over the years, he has acquired the technical and artistic know-how necessary to collaborate with jewelry designers and artistic directors of international jewelry houses including: JAR, DIOR, Marina Bulgaria, Fred, Cartier, Harry Winston, Van Cleef & Arpels. In 1995, he opened his own workshop near Paris, creating unique jewelry for the major Parisian jewelry houses. The Falbala collection was born from a reverie around a ribbon... Timeless, inescapable, feminine. Created in our workshop, these pieces are singular and unique, always in volume, combining elegance and refinement. Only a handmade work can make the curves so soft and fluid. I privilege the balance and the legibility of the lines. The pieces are mobile, articulated, which contributes to put the jewels in movement, to give them floating, to give them life.These jewels must be light to be comfortable and pleasant to wear. This collection was presented at Gemgeneve 2022, in the Vivarium of designers selected by Vivienne Becker.
