Vhernier Freccia earrings 18k Yellow Gold and Jade Rock Crystal These Vhernier earclips feature a rounded, compact shape: the triangular accents, placed to form a circle, create dynamic, vibrant movement, alternating between rose gold and the beautiful colour of the jade, which is given some sparkle by the rock crystal. There are a number of techniques Vhernier is most recognized for such as the Trasparenze (transparencies): mother-of-pearl and gemstones in dazzlingly bright colours masterfully layered with perfect cabochons of rock crystal create extraordinary plays of colour. While most jewelry brands compete in splendor and ostentatious luxury, Milan's house of Vhernier strives for laconicism and simplicity. Born in Valenza in 1984, from the very beginning the company conducted numerous studies and experiments aimed at finding new forms. Co-founder of the firm, Angela Camurati, immediately opposed her offspring to fashion, commerce and blind copying – widespread in the world of luxury. Taking her love of modern art, innovation and architecture as her basis, she created a completely new style, which was universal and out of the vagaries of fashion. The name was found and matched with the surname of the Venetian, Doge Venier, ruling during the Renaissance. Ms. Camurati added the letters “h” and “r” — and so the name of one of the most famous Milan jewelry houses was born. The first pieces of Vhernier's own design were presented in the very beginning of the 1990s, namely laconic earrings and rings of glossy gold. However, the greatest popularity of the company was brought by animalistic brooches in the form of playful turtles, crabs, and caterpillars, as well as earrings with a balloon motif. At the heart of their production is the unique Trasparenze technique, in which the relief layer of rock crystal is fixed on top of a colored opaque mineral — it takes the color of the substrate, but when viewed from the side it remains completely transparent. For the lower layer, only perfect minerals with uniform color are chosen, since the crystal dome, like a magnifying glass, reveals even the smallest imperfections and makes them more noticeable. In some products, masters use several contrasting elements at once, the shades of which appear at different angles of view: for example, because of a small triangular insert on the frog's chest, its head turns green, and a thin layer of nacre, set under a colored mineral, creates an effect of a watery surface out on a windy day. These optical tricks, combined with impeccable simplicity and harmonious proportions, have made the brooch a hunting object among collectors and jewelry experts.
