About the Item
Ico & the Bird Fine Jewelry has collaborated with Turquoise Mountain Myanmar on a new collection celebrating the Lotus flower.
Each piece is handmade in Myanmar by master goldsmiths, trained in ancient techniques
These earrings feature Lotus Leafs in a lightweight design. Artisan, Tun Tun Kyaw, who is one of the goldsmiths at the TM Myanmar workshop used thin gold sheet to feature the veins and curves in the leaves. The leafs measure 36mm from top to bottom, with a diameter of 22mm for the leaves.
These lightweight drops feature the rich color of Burmese gold in statement earrings.
Myanmar is famous for its traditional their delicate handcrafted gold jewellery which represents a unique and significant part of the identity and livelihoods of people across the country.
The lotus flower is one of the most important to the people of Myanmar. It is thought that wearing a lotus will make you feel calm.

Ico & the Bird Fine Jewelry
Ico & the Bird Fine Jewelry was founded by designer Juliana Domenico (’Ico’) Carr and inspired by her world travels, searching for the most beautiful and unique gemstones to incorporate into her designs. Gemstones have always been a passion for the designer. She spent the first five years of her life in Brazil, a country known for some of the worlds’ most striking and rare stones, and her earliest memories were of playing with giant, loose aquamarines in her mother’s jewelry box and arranging them into designs. Working primarily in 22k matte gold and hand-picked gemstones, Juliana works with master craftsmen from around the world employing ancient gold smithing techniques in the creation of singular pieces that will be treasured for generations. Juliana holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from The George Washington University. She also holds a Graduate Gemology (GG) degree from The Gemological Institute of America and Graduate Fine Arts from UCLA.
