About the Item
A very fine pair of day to night lapis lazuli, diamond and 18 karat yellow gold earrings, circa 1975 which can be worn during the day or transformed for a night out.
This pair of stunning dangle earrings have a beautifully carved deep-hued lapis lazuli leaf set within a 1970s-style, curled gold frame, accented with brilliant-cut diamonds, and suspending a detachable lapis lazuli sphere. We wish we knew the maker because these fabulous earrings are gorgeous, bold interpretations of the La Dolca Vita style. They have post-backs but can be converted to clip-ons upon request.
Fine-quality lapis lazuli is increasingly rare today. It has been primarily found in select locations such as Afghanistan, Chile, and Russia. Treasured for its rich, intense blue color with golden pyrite flecks and occasional white calcite veining, the vividness and depth of these vintage lapis lazuli dangle blue earrings are highly prized.
