Early Victorian Cameo & Enamel Earrings
About the Item
Exquisite mid Victorian cameo and enamel earrings, circa 1850s.
Beautifully designed and incredible hand-carved individual cameos of two goddesses are set with a wonderfully high relief. Set in 9ct gold, and enamelled in blue and white interwoven triangles. Enamel work is interspersed with delicate gold beading detail.
The cameo faces are vibrant and detailed, each with curled hair and wearing a dress necklace.
The earrings hang beautifully on the ear. A rare find dated circa 1850s.
There is some marking to the cameo face of the left earring.
