A pair of Victorian gold drop earrings, consisted of two circlets each with five gold drops, all suspended by scroll designed openwork top, with shepherds hook fitting, all in yellow gold, circa 1870, measuring approximately 6.8 x 2.1cm, gross weight 14.5grams.
Unmarked tested as 18ct gold. A pair of gold earrings in good condition for its age.
These gorgeous and exotic Victorian earrings come from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Made in the mid-Victorian era when jewellery took stylistic influences from the ancient world, these revivalist earrings feature bright and lush yellow gold moulded into intricate circular shapes, culminating in gold drops. These drop earrings make a stunning statement.
