Circa 1970s, 18k, by Peter Aylen, Mt Desert Island, ME. These seventies gold earrings have all the hand-crafted qualities we love, the unique details, and organic vibe of true Hippie jewelry. Gold bubbles adorn the front of a diamond-shaped element and a dimensional op-art motif adorns the reverse, drawing the eye from every direction. Excellent condition.
Remark: “Self taught Hippies out did trained goldsmiths, the sixties and seventies were a second Art and Crafts period.”
