About the Item
This is a spectacular pair of Antique Victorian Goddess Woman Shell Cameo Pendant Dangle Drop Earrings in 10-14 Karat Gold. These stunning earrings are of the highest quality. They have extraordinary hand carved Cameos of two Goddesses. The two cameos are facing images with magnificent high relief carving of great beauty. The faces of the women are exquisite, the hair is extraordinary, they wear flower garlands in their hair, and each has a lyre instrument. The cameos are beautifully done and clearly the work of a master artisan. The cameos are set in lovely filigree bordered settings in 10-14 Karat Gold. The gold work is extremely fine and combined with the colors of the cameo is just stunning. The earrings hang beautifully on the ear. The earrings are rare jewels and date to circa 1840-1880.
The earrings are 45mm (1 1/2 inches) long from the top of the hooks. From the top of the filigree they are 26mm (1 inch) tall. The earrings are 22mm (7/8 inch) wide.
The french hooks are later additions.
The earrings are 10-14 Karat Gold.
Together the earrings weigh 8.3 grams.
