About the Item

This pair is definitely Russian-made, but the absence of hallmarks makes that hard to say the exact year of creation. After the Russian Revolution of 1917 for some years assayers were no longer appointed and standards of hallmarking or even general Gold trade in a new state of early USSR were not defined yet. At that period some items were made and were either not hallmarked at all or could be marked with former Tsarist period 56 Gold standard hallmarks. But in late 1920s new rules were already working and presumed obligatory hallmarking of all Gold items in accordance with clearly defined new standards. Metal of this pair was tested solid 14K Gold. Each measures 35 mm long from the top of the wire to the end of the dangle x 25 mm wide. Weight: 4 grams pair Hand-engraved floral decorations on pendants shaped like miniature upside-down models of Kokoshnik - a traditional Russian headdress worn by women and girls to accompany the sarafan dress, primarily worn in the northern regions of Russia.
