Circa 1960s "Bamboo" Orange Sapphire Turban Leverback Earrings in 18 Karat Gold
About the Item
These twiggy little nests used to be clip-ons (ouch!) with florets of tiny emeralds in the center. After converting the backs to posts with omega clips, we realized we didn't really like the emerald florets. The stones were pretty nice, actually -- very deep green -- but very small, and the floret was extremely prongy. We replaced the emeralds and their overbearing prongs with single bezels for two fiery orange sapphires.
The tidy bezels and brilliant orange stones give these earrings an instant update, and they're completely unique, just like the woman who wears them...
Measurements:
Diameter: 3/4"
Sapphires: 6mm
Marks: These earrings are 18 karat yellow gold with the exception of the omega clips, which are 18 karat white gold. The clips are stamped "18Kt" and "ITALY."
Weights:
Total weight: 14.7 grams (7.35 grams per earring)
Sapphires: 2.83 carats (total)
Note: If you would prefer traditional post closures, please let us know and we'll remove the omega clips and provide 18 karat butterfly closures. We can also convert them back to clip-ons if you'd prefer! We'll even make them into SCREWBACKS! If you want these on your lobes, we're here to make it happen...
