ABOUT the CREATOR
REGINA GAMBATESA: AN ARTIST OF SPIRIT AND FORM
Regina Gambatesa is a jewelry artist who strives to transform materials into objects of profound symbolic meaning and communicative value.
Years of study, travel and research find expression in her unique artistic jewelry work, inspired by ritual objects. Each of her works bears witness to a fluidity of expression using the language of ornamentation and an extraordinary aesthetic sense.
In 1999, Regina Gambatesa opened her exhibition studio in Bari, Italy, where she was born and lives. The studio is an experimental space, a place for encounters and sensory journeys.
Regina has participated in important events and design exhibits.
Among which are : “A special World” (Groninger Museum, Groninger), “Women’s Design” (Museum of Contemporary Décor, Ravenna ), “Author Crafts” (Town Hall, Siena), “Far away rites of the home” (Alchimia Museum, Milan). Her objects and ornaments have been published in a number of volumes (Editions Mondadori, Electa, Byblos, Allemandi)
